A putter fitting is focused on just the one club – the putter – and because it is used most often in a round of golf, it is arguably the most important club in the bag to get fitted. The average golfer will play 40% of their shots with the putter.
A putter is a very personal club – visuals are particularly significant, how you see the lines and markings to aim correctly are as important as the weight, balance and loft that together enable you to deliver the club as squarely as possible on a consistent basis.
The putting stroke is fundamentally different to the golf swing, so we have a dedicated putting studio with specialised turf, a Quintic ball launch monitor and a 1080fps high speed camera. This set-up allows us to look at the ball itself, how it launches, how it rolls and how the putter head is being taken back and delivered to the ball.
The aim is to fit a putter that provides a consistent roll and distance control – which means players can read putts clearly, hole more putts and lower their scores.
