Fairway wood fitting is about forensically looking at the shots you don’t take with your driver so they can cover a couple of key performance areas.

And we do really mean on the golf course – if you play a links course, you’re likely looking for a low running shot that cuts through the wind whereas if you play on a parkland course with water in front of greens you want a higher flying, higher spinning set-up. It’s all about the fitter understanding your requirements and what’s going to work best for where you play the majority of your golf.
We begin the fitting by looking at how you hit your existing clubs, using a Trackman 4 launch monitor. We look at many data points such as club length, loft and lie & digital swing weight, which together provide a foundational data benchmark so we know what we’re starting with, then we find the best fairway wood for you.
Many people believe that if a shaft works well in a driver then it will also perform in a fairway wood, but this is rarely the case.
Fairway woods are typically used for position rather than distance, so the controlled flight pattern delivered by a slightly heavier shaft is where we usually start. However, building on how the player wants to play their shots and their swing data, we can test a range of heads and shafts to find the perfect solution.
