A Trackman Gapping session is something very few golfers do, but the clarity it provides can significantly improve on course confidence and lower scores.
During the session, we look at your whole set from a distance balance perspective – which means we look at the carry and total distances that you hit each club.
We focus on full swings for the majority of clubs but supplement that with ¾ and ½ swings for wedges to provide complete distance control. Armed with this data, we can analyse whether those distances consistently balance through the set.
We’re looking for any gaps (hence the name) and then potentially altering existing or fitting a new club to fill the gap.
Knowing the spread of distances through the bag reduces those instances on course where we second guess the club we have in our hands right before we hit the shot. A second guess is a negative swing thought and the gapping process is all about giving golfers the information to make positive choices and swings.
Trackman has revolutionised club gapping because it surfaces so much data – launch angles, spin rates, attack angle but most importantly distance. Using this data our fitters can optimise performance across your full set of clubs.
